Eaga’s Board takes responsibility for social, environmental and ethical issues in relation to the company’s operations and business planning and in its decision making. A Corporate and Social Responsibility Working Group, including senior managers from across the business also reports to Eaga’s Board.
As part of our ongoing commitment to improving and maintaining good practices, the Board ensures that an executive has specific responsibility for this area. Drew Johnson, Eaga Chief Executive, has overall responsibility for Corporate Responsibility.
Our operating divisions have adopted the principles of:
(i) treating employees fairly and equally
(ii) operating ethically and with integrity
(iii) respecting basic human rights
(iv) seeking to limit our impact on the environment
(v) being a caring member of our communities
We do not currently set specific Board Corporate Responsibility targets, but the Board continues to monitor our position. At present the Board does not consider it appropriate to link the management of social, environmental and ethical issues to remuneration incentives, given the difficulties in objectively measuring risk management and performance in this area.
